19. Editor Interface – Preferences

These changes are optional.  If you have limited memory space on your computer, consider the first two listed.  In the Fix/Edit mode…

  • Above in the menu Edit >Preferences >General.  Look for the “Export Clipboard.”  Click on it to UNcheck mark this selection.  This will keep the clipboard empty, thus freeing up memory space until you need to use it.
  • (Menu) Edit >Preferences >Performance.  Memory Usage – set this number to the highest number in the ideal range.  Do NOT do this if you are using less than 1 GB of RAM.
  • (Menu) Edit >Display & Cursors.  Here are some settings for the brush tools and clone stamp.  At this point, you may not have a preference how these brushes act.  At some point in your journey, you may want a brush that is very precise and doesn’t have a feathered edge.  This is a way to set the default to your liking.  You can always make changes to the brushes at anytime as there is a drop down menu for brushes, which gives you easy access for making changes.
