29. A Faster Edit (to posts #23-28)

Photoshop never ceases to amaze me.   In this post you can quickly edit your photos. Click the Edit Tab, select Quick Edit in the drop down menu.  On the right side of your image there are sections with sliders and Auto buttons.  The sections are described below.

  1. Smart Fix adjusts lighting and color. Smart Fix corrects overall color balance and improves shadow and highlight detail, if necessary. Click the Auto button to apply this command.  You can then use the slider to adjust the overall fix.
  2. Lighting adjusts the overall contrast and sometimes the color.  There are AUTO buttons for these.  There are also sliders for Highlights, Midtones and Shadows.
  3. Color adjusts with Saturation and Hue.
  4. Balance adjusts with sliders for Temperature and Tint
  5. Sharpen
BEFORE you adjust your image, refine the workflow area so that you can see the original image and a copy of the image with the adjustments being made.  The drop down menu to do this is located on the lower left edge of the work area.  These are the choices: After only, Before only, Before and after Horizontal (my choice), Before and after Vertical.
ALSO NOTE – above the after picture is a reset button.  This allows you to change your mind.  Click the AUTO button, then reset if you want to make changes.  Do anything, keep it or reset and try again until you get the image the way you want it.
